Hey friends and Conspirators, here’s the Fatman Journal. After 8 weeks of being on the needle, the weight loss has slowed down, but it’s still progressing. Today’s weight was 334 pounds – down from 377 when I started. 43 pounds in 8 weeks? Yea, I’ll take it.
It’s way too easy today for me to set up camp on this 43 pound rock and say ‘good enough’. I’ve sacrificed a lot and put a lot of work in over the last 8 weeks to get here, and…. But wait, I’m far from done. There’s still a lot of work to be done, and more sacrifices to be made. This is when I need to remind myself of ‘The Rules’. These get me over the rough patches, and they remind me to channel the momemtum gained during the good periods and keep grinding. No doubt, you’ve heard some version of them somewhere else, and If you’ve known me long enough, you’ve heard me pontificate about these (and a couple of others) often enough.
Nothing changes unless you change something.
Work the plan. Focus on consistency, and the results will take care of themselves.
Give yourself a break. Success is a most of the time proposition. Failing every now and then is just life. Rub some dirt on it and get back to work.
Always be honest, and take ownership. Lies just prolong the problem. And the agony.
And the Golden Rule: “Unless it includes words like marriage or heroin, every opportunity should most likely always be answered with an enthusiastic ‘YES'”.
